An extraordinary bearing and stability structure has been chosen for the Weenatower, because of its mixed-use function (residences and offices). The choice for the structure was largely determined by a desire for large spans for the offices and a beamless floor for the residences. This has resulted in a design of an in-situ concrete core surrounded by prefabricated concrete floor and facade elements. Apart from the two lower floors, the outside of the core on each floor has a cantilevered floor edge with a width of 1.80 m. Prefabricated floor plates span the space between this 'collar' and the bearing facade with a gradient width according to the radians of the circular floor plan.
